beginner's mind. imperfect hand. local roots.

a quieter direction.

A young apprentice with a notebook sits beside an older shopkeeper at a wooden table in a Batavia storefront. Warm afternoon window light, exposed brick, a chipped enamel mug, hand-drawn sketches on paper, an old laptop between them.

marketing, made by hand.

an apprentice. a shopkeeper. one good afternoon.

what if marketing was a relationship ?

not a campaign. not a funnel. a person, then another.

Five young people gathered around a long wooden table in a high-ceilinged community room in downtown Geneva, Illinois. Tall arched windows let in low golden-hour light. Open notebooks, sketches, and a small ceramic vase on the table. One person stands and gestures while the others lean in and write.

small rooms. real tools.

five apprentices. one notebook each. one local project on the table. we learn by doing, in public, on saturday afternoons.

the agency is the trellis. the work is the byproduct.

Golden hour on a brick-paved downtown sidewalk in the Fox Valley. A young apprentice with a tote bag and notebook walks alongside an older shopkeeper in a barn coat. Vintage hanging signs read Geneva Hardware Co. and Batavia Bakery. Gas-lamp streetlights are just starting to glow.

made local. tie by tie.

every project, a thread between two parts of the city.

heroes, with type on top.

when the photograph is doing the heavy lifting, the headline goes on it, not below it. three placements — bottom scrim, upper-left, and a pinned card — cover the cases.

saturday sessions

what gets taught in five hours.

five apprentices. one notebook each. real client briefs. open enrollment, every season.

A young apprentice and an older shopkeeper walk together down a golden-hour brick sidewalk in downtown Geneva, past Geneva Hardware Co. and Batavia Bakery storefronts.

the work, in public

we walk to our clients.

the apprentice meets the shopkeeper on her sidewalk, in her shop, on her schedule. that is how the city learns to trust the work.

A young apprentice with a notebook and pencil sits beside a smiling older shopkeeper at a wooden table inside a small Batavia storefront, leaning toward a laptop together in warm afternoon light.

for tri-cities students 16–22. ten apprentices. one season. one local engagement each.

mission

teach young people to build audiences with AI — while staying recognizably human.

place them with the local businesses, churches, schools, and civic groups that need this help. the work that comes out of that exchange is the product. the agency is the trellis.

philosophy

two ideas anchor the brand.

初心

Shoshin — beginner's mind.

approach every project as if for the first time. curiosity over expertise. questions over answers. the intern's first day is the agency's default posture.

侘寂

Wabi-Sabi — beauty in imperfection.

asymmetry. weathering. the visible hand of the maker. we will not airbrush our work into hollowness. the smudge and the off-kilter line are evidence we were here.

what we do

a mentorship-led practice, in three flows.

  1. i.

    train.

a rolling cohort of high-school and college students learn AI-assisted audience building inside our handbook and weekly sessions. apprenticeship rhythms, not bootcamp gloss.

  2. ii.

    place.

we pair each apprentice with a real local engagement — a parish bulletin, a chamber email, a shop's website. they do the work; a manager reviews.

  3. iii.

    connect.

every engagement is also a tie between two parts of the city — an 18-year-old learning the craft, a 60-year-old shopkeeper learning the tools. the byproduct is community, not just deliverables.

what this brand is not

a quiet list, by negation.

not a tech brand. no glow, no gradients, no abstract data-flow illustrations.

not a hype brand. we do not announce. we do the work and let people find it.

not a polished corporate brand. the slightly crooked line stays in.

not an AI brand. AI is in our toolbox, not our mission statement.
